Blooming Obscenity

So this old lady just played a great prank on you?

Awesome!

Will post them as soon as received. Use the email link in my profile or just click on my name in the message header.

I know one would not try to use “Smells Like A Real Dead Guy!” as a promotional theme, but I am nevertheless amused by the contrast between the OP’s description and the sales blurb on the store site.

Scylla, you sillyhead. It’s a Starfish Flower, not a Hairy Sloughing Zombie Vulva Flower.

Hey, I have one of those plants! My neighbor gave it to me. But all of us in the neighborhood who have them have them outside on screened patios. That would explain why I never noticed a smell. The one she gave me had 5 blooms that came out all at once.

Seriously, finally cashing in on a five year set up? Burrrrrrrnnnn!

Drip some blood into it and let us know what happens next!

FEED ME - I’M HUNGRY!!!

I wanna see the flower in Scylla’s office. Bump!

Revenge is a dish that is best served cold.

Still waiting for pics. I wonder if the flower got him?

In Hawaii, it used to be a very popular border plant in gardens. It would attract swarms of flies. Nowadays, we associate it with gardens tended by little old ladies.

Got the picks sent for real now.

I don’t think that odors can be attached to emails, so that may not be necessary.

So that’s what a dead fat snootch looks like.

If anyone wants to know how to host pics for an in a SDMB thread here’s a short quide.

It’s free & very easy.

That is, bar none, the strangest looking flower I have ever seen.

While reading this thread earlier, I looked over my shoulder to see what was on TV. Who says men can’t multi-task? Anyway, I was tuned to HDTV; an episode of Equator was on and they were discoursing on this very flower, or one very similar. The one on TV looked like the ones in Scylla’s pictures. I think this was some sort of supernatural thing that can’t be explained by science and I still have cold chills racing all over my elderly body. I can’t survive much more of this sort of thing.

Whoa. I’ve never seen one of those before. It was worth the wait. Must be a real conversation piece around your desk.

Thanks astro! That’s very nice of you to help me out with this.

I cut the bloom off today. It just made my office stink too bad.

I have it here, at home, in a baggy.
