Now that Showbiz Moms and Dads is over, I was wondering if anybody was watching this. For those who are, what do you think?
I got almost through episode one and keeled over atop my remote from lack of interest. Did episode two have more high-octane glamour and diva fits, and less drywall construction?
The first episode was kind of boring, but the second was much improved. Much more “Diva” behavior and fights. I, for one, am waiting for Jonathan to punch Brandon in the nose (It’s going to happen, or he’ll get fired at the least).
I have to say, I’m in awe that the illustrious Eve posted to a thread that I started
Oh, I’m not illustrious—I’m just old.
Hmm, I’ll have to tune im to one of Bravo’s many, many reruns.
Ah but Eve, clearly what we witnessed was glamour drywall.
Just got through the second ep. I thought at the halfway point it was actually over, so protracted did half the first seem to me. I almost turned it off, but thank goodness I didn’t or else I would have missed the in-depth discussion of the greatness of American Express Open. That had to be the single most awkward product placement ever. I mean, how the hell do you just work that into conversation? I’m sure the client was enthralled too, especially when the little pink-haired girl opined that it was “good.”
Overall though this ep seemed a little less staged than last week. Not saying that it was any less staged; just that it seemed so. There were no glaring moments screaming out “staged!” like in the first ep where we saw that both Brandon and the stylist from NYC already had film crews attached before they officially knew they were working there. Speaking of Brandon, while I appreciate a good treasure trail as much as the next man, did anyone not expect he would compare himself to James Dean in the course of the series?
None of these people have learned the basics of interacting with a boss.
Unintentional humor moment of the ep: Jonathan places the flaming homosexual at his station with the comment “I put you between two beautiful women.”
ok, is it me, or does Johnathon look like Jason Bateman?

random thoughts:
I like the show, despite the awkward product placements (and I thought Queer eye was bad!). When I first saw Johnathan I thought he was going to be some slimey guy but in reality I think he has the makings of a good boss.
I think we should start keeping points on Brandon comparing himself to James Dean.
That manicurist is a bit bitchy, no?
Am I the only one still watching this show?
I missed the first five minutes of last night’s ep so I missed Brandon’s firing.
I did manage to catch the extended Lenscrafters commercial with the three women topping off their makeovers with new frames. Sheesh.
My fave on Queer Eye was the POM pomegranate juice. They made cocktails and they all had to contain their shock at the nasty undrinkableness of it. They spent the rest of the scene waving the glasses in the general area of their mouths while procaiming “Mmmm, mmm! Wonderful POM!”
