In one of Desmond Morris’ books, he says people are turned off by blue food.
That is, food that actually appears blue to the eye, not blueberries, et al.
Why?
I think it would be quite pretty!
Blue mashed potatoes, spaghetti…who’s with me?
Personally, I’m turned off by pretty much any green food. Blue food doesn’t sound bad, but there isn’t much out there right now, so I’m really not sure what I’d think of it.
Naw, blue food would be such a downer. But you know, come to think of it, we do have blue Cheerios, vanilla. I believe they’re called “Froot Loops”.
good point.And blue m & m’s now.
I eat blue cornflakes for breakfast.
Of course, they don’t look blue; lavendar, they are made from blue corn.
I try to avoid blue food; I just can’t bring myself to believe it might be natural (and you have no idea how many “Blueberries aren’t blue! They’re purple on the outside and white on the inside.” arguements I’ve had over the years).
On the other hand, I’m addicted to red food. Bright red food. Juice, Jell-O, candy, Popsicles–if it’s red, I’ll eat it before any other colour. Even if it is artificially coloured.
I cheered when they brought back red M&Ms, and cried when they introduced blue. I do eat the blue ones, I just can’t look at them while I’m doing it.
Blue would be super easy to do, with food coloring. Like blue mashed potatos…just add some dye, and presto-chango! Also the same applies to milk, a little coloring, and you have blue. Blue Jell-O is starting to pop up in a lot of cafeterias and stuff, and then there is always blue ice cream. My mom used to make me red macaroni and cheese, by putting the food coloring in a bowl, with the cheese, and mixing it up. Then just add that cheese to the macaroni, but it never worked as well as I would’ve liked
