Blue Christmas lights

For some reason around here we always see the blue lights in the ghetto.

I like them, I think it seems more like starlight then other colors.

My favorite was a house with alternating blue and green lights. I thought it gave off an underwater feeling.

We’ve always used a mix of blue and green lights on our house, with a few of the old white light strings. My family is jewish, but we use blue because thats usually all thats still available the afternoon of December 24th.

If I had my way my lights in my house would blind you and turn off power for blocks around everytime I turned them on. However, I live with someone who thinks one extra light is probably overkill. So our compromise is thus - I can put up all the lights I want, provided they’re blue and white. I can decorate my tree with all kinds of multi-colored ornaments, and go crazy, provided the tinsel and lights are blue and silver/white.

I actually think it’s a gorgeous effect but would never admit it to him. MORE POWER FOR GREEN AND RED LIGHTS!

My son was born just before Christmas. I put up blue lights everywhere.

I like the blue lights, even though I find them kind of hard to see! My neighbors have them, and I know that they are not Jewish.

Blue lights have a sweet nostalgic melancholy to them. Think of the Charlie Brown Christmas theme song and that’s the mood I’m referencing.
