In my experience, major changes often happen over the weekend, so that they can reboot servers or shut down network equipment without impacting employees.
Of course, that means Monday morning is often when you have the most problems. But after more than 25 years of IT experience, that’s just something you expect. Like cold weather in the winter.
I had planned to go to Butler at some point, since it’s a bit of a Jeep pilgrimage site. Now, between the loss of the last significant American Bantam building, and the association with MAGA, I have no desire to go anywhere near the place.
I have come to understand that when I leave my car in the driveway instead of putting it the garage, birds shit on it. They are attracted to it. This is my lot in life. I get it. When there’s a heavy rain as there was last night, it washes it off. This is all good – it’s the circle of life.
What I don’t get is how birds manage to shit on the deck chair on my covered porch. What are they doing in there? I just cleaned it off with some Fantastik and a paper towel, but I know it’s futile, because they’ll be back. Now I know what all the tweeting is about in the 4:30 AM “dawn chorus” – birds are announcing to all the other birds prime targets for shitting upon, and I’m pretty sure I’m at the top of their list.
