Blue Man at the Luxor

Tickets are $90 so it’d better be a great show.

Any opinions? Any way to get discount tickets? I’ll be there for half a week starting in early May.

Well, it’s significantly cheaper in Boston and Chicago. $50 or so. I don’t know if the show’s the same though. You’d think they would have a bigger budget in Vegas.

I have seen it three times here in Boston. Tickets were fifty dollars or so but it would have been worth it for several times the price. Best. Show. Ever.

Can’t describe it. No really you can’t.

Belrix, I would suggest checking with your hotel for a discount. I don’t know if you plan on gambling a lot but if you set up a house card (keeps track of your gambling habits and winnings/loses) they may be willing to comp you tickets.

I have seen the show here in NYC and paid $50. $90 seems a bit steep if its the same show in Vegas.

It is a really good show though.

Nope. Don’t gamble at all. I played $5 on nickle video poker machines the last time I was there & that was it. Poor hotels don’t make more than room costs & fees from me, I’m afraid.

I was there last week and saw the show. I loved every minute of it!

To echo ShagNasty- Best. Show. Ever.

Worth every penny. I think it still sells out consistently, so it makes little sense for the Luxor to dscount tix. I got mine on the Internet, paid full price.

These guys (and their band) are the hardest working group in town, bar none. Be prepared for a lot of audience participation, and if you are down in the first 20 rows or so, buy a poncho. Think Gallagher-style messiness in parts of the show.

Excellent show, the best I’ve seen in Vegas.

Ditto.

Stunningly fantastically wonderful.

More approachable than Cirque’s O (which was more expensive.)

Just for the record, it’s not the same show. BMG in Chi, Boston and NYC are similar shows (although still with differences) entitled Tubes. BMG Vegas is a completely different show entitled Live at Luxor.

The Vegas show is much more rock concert-ish than Tubes.

I’ve seen the Vegas show and I loved it. It was great. It’s really, really good `performance rock’: Music, comedy, and high concept, all in an odd yet approachable manner. It’s a very interesting, postmodern, tribal experience, and you’ll enjoy it immensely.

Well, count me as one who saw the Boston show and was seriously underwhelmed–paid 1/2-price and felt ripped off. No way would I shell that $ out for the Vegas version. Definitely catch one of the Cirque de Soleils in town instead.

I saw it in Vegas two years ago, I seem to remember the tix only being $55 or $60. I guess since they did the pentium ads and got mentioned on The Simpsons, they command the high dollars now. In any case, it’s a very enjoyable show. The end was a bit of a letdown, but overall it was pretty kickass.

hey, I was hoping to catch a Boston show soon but, well, have no money. Anyone know of any good way to get discounts on tickets here? As far as I can tell, the student rush rate is way too narrowly applied to be of much use.

If you are a student or are willing to rip tickets and point people to their seats, you can sometimes get discounted tickets- IF you contact them a few weeks in advance.

Chicago was a great show, best I’ve ever been to.

I saw it in New York. Very entertaining. Just make sure you show up on time.

Oh yeah! They embarrassed latecomers like I’ve never seen! Too funny!
