Is it this one?
I for one didn’t know that it was O’Riley despite owning that Who album for awhile, long enough to change the name of a character in a song cycle I was writing specifically so I could make a pun about Unix Regular Expressions, the O’Reilly series of computer books, And T.S. Eliots The Waste Land.
My company went to the Blue Man show in London for a Christmas office party. To be honest, I was bored out of my mind after about 45 minutes of esoteric drum play and the other vague and directionless stuff that they get up to. And there was a hell of a lot of drumming. The bit where rolls of paper cover the whole audience is good, though.
Well, my brain certainly isn’t off the hook. Although I’m glad to see I didn’t make this up wholly out of the aether. Boy, I messed that anecdote up, big time.
My humblest apologies.
Not the specific clip I was talking about, but it’s the right song with the right vocalist. And at least we’re not calling it “Teenage Wasteland”.
