Blues Bros/ Bill Murray question

Ok, so the Blues Brothers is on TV-- there’s a scene, which I wasn’t paying attention to, where they plow their car through a department store as someone is asking a clerk “Do you have this in Miss Piggy?” (or something close to that) The SO swears that this person is Bill Murray, but IMDB does not confirm this. Anyone?

Definately not Bill Murray. The voice is similar, but the person is completely different- for one, he doesn’t have the droopy face.

He looks a lot more like Tom Davis (from ‘Franken and Davis’), but I don’t think it’s him, either. I do believe it’s a ‘celebrity’ of some sort - John Landis liberally sprinkles his movies with friends and co-workers.

The man at the store is the stunt coordinator Garry McLarty. His name appears in the credits three times—for the Miss Piggy scene, as stunt coordinator, and as the first name in the list of all the stuntmen in the movie:

While doing the search, there were many WTF moments: This guy was the reason the saying “may you live in interesting times” was created:

This Garry McLarty was in the helicopter that crashed and took the lives of Vic Morrow and two children, (the famous Twilight Zone accident)

He also killed a man in self-defense.

This last item, allegedly, was the reason Robert Blake approached McLarty and according to McLarty: Blake offered money to him to kill Blake’s wife!

Damn, now I’m going to psych out every time I watch this movie again.

Also, as GIGObuster’s link to IMDB points out, Steven Spielberg had a bit part playing the clerk in the Cook County Assessor’s Office at the end of the movie.

And you’ve got to wonder if the Miss Piggy comment was put in as a tribute to Frank Oz, who is also in the movie.

“One condom… Soiled.”
