Blurry Monitor. Help?

My HPw1907 monitor’s image has become blurry.

Cannot figure out why.

Has the resolution been changed to something that does not match the actual pixel count?

(also, are your glasses clean?)

Since this appears to be an LCD monitor, either you don’t have the right resolution configured on your OS (most likely - LCD screens work best on one single horizontal/vertical pixel count) - as far as I can quickly find, it should be set to 1440x900 pixels - or there’s physical crap on your screen.

How do I reset it?

:confused::confused:

Is the whole image blurry or just the text? Is it DVI or VGA?

All the text seems to have a shadow.

And auot reset doesn’t seems to help.

Don’t know what those terms mean.Problem was not there this AM.

I think.

What operating system? DVI connector or VGA connector from the card to the monitor

Windows XP.

Dunno what those terms mean.

The top is DVI, the bottom is VGA.

XP doesn’t use Clear type font so that’s not the problem then.

Right click the desktop, properties, go to resolution, set it at 1440x900.

Okay, XP, let me see if can remember this off the top of my head.
Right click on your wall paper. Chose the item that has something to do with your display, tab over to monitor and click Advanced. That should bring up the option to adjust your resolution.

Can’t, it doesn’t have that setting.

And now, the problem vanishes, just after I move the computer to look in back.:smack::smack::smack::smack:

Does this mean I have a short in my cable?

Here is the HP monitor support document on resolution and blurriness.

Either your video cable is loose at one end, one of the plugs has a problem, or … you’ve just moved it further from a source of interference such as an air ioniser or air conditioner.

Checked #1, no.

And #3 does not apply.

And problem has not returned.

Do I need to replace the monitor cable?
