BMW Owner Looking for Resources

Searching with Google doesn’t get me too far on this topic, so here goes:

I ride a 1985 BMW K100RS motorcycle. It’s in good shape, but I have several questions about it. I can’t seem to find a good resource for do-it-yourself stuff, either a web site or message board. Any ideas?

Here are the questions:
[ol]
[li]My brakes squeal all the time? Did they get glazed the last time I replaced the pads? How do I fix it?[/li][li]Does someone make aftermarket brake rotors for this bike? The rotors need replacing and the stock 1985 ones look clunky.[/li][li]Who makes good aftermarket exhaust systems for this bike?[/li][/ol]

Thanks in advance for your help!

My Dad needed some information on the original registration of his bike, a Royal Enfield, that had an engine from one bike and the chassis from another. Within weeks the owner’s club had tracked down when and where both were made.
Try some classic bike magazine’s they usually list clubs where enough people have gotten together to analyse common faults and sometimes organised the creation of spare parts no longer available new

Glazed brakes? Just brake really hard once, takes the glaze right off 'em! You tend to get a glaze from pussy footing on your brakes.
As for the others… I have no idea. A good mechanic should know the answers.

Try the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America website. I’d say your best bet would be emailing someone specific in such an organization; if they don’t know the answer, they may forward you to someone who does. Car/bike club folk tend to be open and helpful, especially when you’re asking about their favorite subject.
