Board Wierdness

      • After a couple days after the last post, I just added another post to the GQ: Magnets and Iron thread. The board hung after sending (no surprise there) but now, the thread did not go back to the top of the thread list. When I refresh it is still on page 6 or 7…? Is this something new, or something strange and unexplainable? Is it showing up on the front page for anybody else?
  • Also, I had two different tabs open in Mozilla, SDMB and Stile Project boards. The computer stopped responding, and so I restarted my computer, and all of my Mozilla/Netscape favorites are gone now. The bookmarks.htm file is empty. I know there’s a vew vulnerability out in everything but IE, but I only had two well-established sites open…???

It’s not new, I’ve had this happen before. Eventually the software will catch up (usually). Sometimes it even fails to show me as the last poster for several minutes to several hours. blame it on the hamsters.

Are you sure that you’re not under a different user? I know that sometimes when my Mozilla or Netscape locks up, and I have to restart, the old copy doesn’t shut down properly, and it makes me pick a different user. Are all your preferences reset, or just your bookmarks?

      • I am using WinXP that automatically takes care of the proper user. I checked the couple other Netscape/Moz users and all their bookmarks are intact, it was just mine that got wiped. I am beginning to suspect WinXP has a hand in this…

The board always works perfectly. Any perceived anomalies are purely in your mind. The computer is perfect, and the server is perfect. It is only your puny human mind that is sometimes unable to perceive the perfection of the computer.
