Bob Ross spoof?

My google-fu is failing me.

I was talking with DH last night about Bob Ross and his coma-inducing (in a good way!) Joy of Painting. I recall that there was a spoof of Mr. Ross where he was having a flashback to VN, using colors like “agent orange” and “Charlie yellow,” but while I can find references to the spoof, I can’t find anything that leads to a video of it. Some of the sources claim it’s from an SNL skit, but I just don’t think that’s accurate.

Anyone know what I’m talking about? I’d love to show it to DH. Thanks!!

Almost Live!, a Seattle-based comedy show, did a number of Bob Ross parodies; could that be what you were thinking of?

This appears to be the only one on YouTube. Perhaps it will help your recollection.

That was hilarious- not quite what I was looking for, but thanks for the laugh!

I recall the same thing and have searched for it a few times. I feel like it was an old Sam Kenison bit or maybe somone like Dana Carvey post SNL. No record of it on YouTube that I can find and it IS NOT the one I see from around 2008 which seems to be a less funny ripoff of the one I am looking for!

If you ever found this, it would be great to know!

On Mad TV they did a Bob Ross sketch where he’s getting increasingly bitter about his divorce, getting more aggressive and finally totally losing his zen sangfroid.

Aha! Found it.He’s drawing instead of painting but it has that “quiet Bob Ross gets loud and totally loses it” vibe…
ETA: Just noticed I’m a zombie. But wouldn’t it be great if this still helped.
(I’m picturing bobkitty checking this thread twice a day since he started it: “Whyyyyy can no one find that clip? Does it exist? Am I going crazy? Does anyone care? I’ve got to go to bed… I’ll check once more…”)

I was going to mention that there was a “Deadpool” trailer a while back that was a Bob Ross spoof, but then I noticed that the OP was from nine years ago, so probably not what he was looking for.

Agree, I seem to remember Sam Kinison doing it.

Check out the parody from post #5. He ends up screaming “Barbara! Why did you betray me?! Barrrrbrra!!!”
I can see why someone would remember Kinison doing this.

OK so I was looking for the same thing, and I found this page here. I remembered something about a stand up comic doing it and I found it. It was Joey Kola, and since I found it, I thought I share it with you, hope this is what you’re looking for:

It may take 13 years, but the SDMB gets its answer!

Sounds like something Harold Ramis might have done on SCTV.

unless it is some sort of mandella effect, I definitely remember Sam Kinneson doing this bit. I have been scouring the internet to find anything on it to no avail 14 years later…
