At dinner last night, a friend of the host’s that I had just met told me that she heard of a new trend and claimed it happens in London.
Instead of or in addition to getting pierced kids are now getting the tip of their pinky fingers chopped off. Yes chopped off!
So I’m asking if there is any truth to this rumor and if so how is this procedure done?

its one thing to get a piercing, its another to cut the end of your pinkies off.

How is it done? I’d wager any amount of money that a knife is involved.
I suppose the more important question is how much of the finger is lopped off? More than once, I’ve accidentally shortened my fingers when cutting something. (Oddly enough, trimming paper with a ruler and X-Acto - hardly a typical instrument of mass slashing.) But that’s just flattening the tip a bit, and it grows back in a couple weeks. If they’re taking fingers down a knuckle or two, that’s another story!
