Body shaming insults should not be allowed here, towards anyone.

It’s all just a big blame game name shame game.

Christie, Christie, bo-bistie…

To be fair, I’m not sure it’s the capotain’s fault.

But are you the capotain of her heart?

I love that song!

Stop shaming John Mace for his poor spelling ability. Reported.

Body shaming is bad, yes. But to me it is worse when it is done hypocritically; that is to say when it is done by someone who would themselves likely be the target of body-shaming.

It’s like the bully who cries foul when he himself is bullied.
“Bullying is wrong but, hey, suck it up; if anyone deserves to be bullied it’s you”.

Say what you want about the Capotain, but have a go at Tenoille and we’ll have to step outside.

Which Capotain has the most shameful body: Kirk or Picard?
(or between acting Capotain Troi or bearded Riker?)

That’s not hypocritical. It would be hypocritical if the person had made statements that people should not body shame others, or had complained about being body shamed. It seems people get this wrong around here a lot.

Okay, I stand corrected. But this situation must also have a name. Like hearing an African-American person calling for the enslaving of Latinos.

You took BwanaBob’s quote out of context. His next paragraph was

That quote infers that the body shamer, like the bully, feels body-shaming is wrong but does it to others.

If the African-American is calling for that hypocritically, then the name is" hypocrisy." If he thinks there’s a rational reason why it’s okay in the one case and not the other and he’s wrong, then the name could be “irrationality”, but it could be something else, like having incorrect facts as a starting point. We’d need more information.

My father’s second wife was a German Jewish woman who was highly prejudiced against African and Latin American people. I called her “titanium” because “irony” just wasn’t strong enough to describe her.
