Absolutely so. He kind of is the real-life Buckaroo Banzai.
His answers were I would say not so much scripted as rehearsed (or repeated endlessly). His answers from different shows could be seamlessly edited together.

I just — and finally — saw this movie. And loved it! Not knowing much about the band’s story or Freddie’s upbringing or his marriage, and so not having much to compare it to, and also being a big fan of their music, I thought it was very moving and well done. I loved the developing love story of Freddie and Mary Austin. And of course I loved the music too.
The air was salty the day I saw it — some of it kept irritating my eyes repeatedly during the movie.
