I leave eggs out all the time. Hard cooked eggs at room temp are fine, I don’t really enjoy eating them cold.
Another thing we do is to eat our eggs without cooking them. Adding one to a breakfast smoothie creates a very nice texture.
Eat them, refrigerate them - but don’t expect them to last quite as long as those immediately refrigerated.
As noted, boiling for 10 minutes or so has sterilized the egg, the water and the pot. Nothing fatal or toxic will penetrate and grow the water and egg overnight.
(Graduate studies and 10 years of employment in microbiology taught me this)
This is why I love the Dope! There’s always someone around who actually knows. thanks, jasg
Already eaten. They made a nice egg salad sandwich with celery, sun dried tomatoes, marinated mushrooms and home made mayo on rye toast.
Now lets see if I survive the night.
My mother taught me that when I was in grade school.
