I got signed up for our corporate Amazon account today. First order was a receiver adapter for a trailer, a can of electric contact cleaner, and a USB-RS232 adapter.
After I order it throws up a bunch of recommendations.
The beard ornaments are funny, but I don’t have a beard.
Under movies there is a fine assortment of soft-core porn. Huh.
I guess people that order trailer parts frequently have beards and watch porn!
And I’m sure it’s not linked to my personal Amazon account-which happens to be under my wife’s name/email.
I’d guess the contact cleaner and serial adapter might suggest an electronics nerd, which in my experience has a positive correlation with beards. No comment about correlation with porn.
I’ve ordered mostly mechanical stuff, hardware, bearings, an entire electric trailer brake system (including drums), and a variety of wiring harnesses.
And Amazon offers me cutesy little PJs and hairbands and accessories, mostly like the Hello Kitty stuff. Either their algorithm’s got big problems, or mechanics in the US have really interesting off work lifestyles.
