Trump is only interested in getting re-elected. Who knew?
I have this feeling Trump will start going after Bolton, maybe as early as today.
And some liberals will have mixed feelings since they are no fan of Bolton.

I fully expect Mike Pompeo, if he is ever forced out of office, to also write about Trump’s staggering flaws. We’ve seen Bolton, Bannon, etc. blow the whistle on the guy now.
Seriously, so f*cking what? Another carefully measured treatise from an insider on what a total moron Trump is? Isn’t there a whole shelf-full of those already?
Nobody at the level of Bolton has put out a Trump book have they? As far as insiders go. People have talked about him like Tillerson, Kelly, Mattis, etc. but none of them have put out a book yet.
Will his book sales be affected because he did not offer crucial information he has to the impeachment trial?
This would be more interesting if I parse the thread title the other way: Trump is coming out, and Bolton has a book on it.
Bolton supposedly has the inside scoop on the Ukraine scandal that got Trump impeached.
The fact that he criticized the Democrats for not doing more during impeachment makes we want to put my balls in boiling black kettle filled with irony water.
I won’t buy it.
Wonder if the book tour includes Fox news. That would be interesting.
Bolton had the chance to do the right thing and appear before the House impeachment inquiry. He put his future book sales before his concern for the nation. If his book convinces some not to vote for Twitface, then fine. But I don’t think his book will have any impact on the voting. If I see the book at a garage sale for a quarter, I might buy it. Else I’ll let the talking heads on TV tell me what’s in it.
If Bolton said Trump was the devil it would not have mattered. The GOP was not going to remove Trump.

John Bolton’s spinelessness has come back to haunt him, Cody Fenwick, Alternet, June 11, 2020.
TL;DR: If Bolton had chosen to testify at the impeachment hearings, it would have been “explosive”. If he then had gotten his book out when that was all in the news and everyone was focused on that, it would have been a mega-blockbuster.
But now? The impeachment is ancient history. People have other things to think about these days. Who’s going to be interested in this book now? It’s going to be a dud.
ETA: What BobLibDem said.
Maybe, but it’s #16 on Amazon and hasn’t been released yet.
Today it’s #11.
“How Am I Supposed to Live Without You” was a good song.
Oh, John Bolton, not *Michael *Bolton.
Ever since that happened, I’m not interested in John. I’m not really interested in Michael either but if I had to choose…? John could have weighed in with useful info about Trump and chose not to. I won’t be buying the book.
George T. Conway III, writing in Washington Post, offers his analysis and opinion of why Bolton is publishing his book now and not then, and why he didn’t testify at the impeachment trial.
John Bolton made a tragic mistake. It’s not the one you might think., June 14, 2020.
TL;DR: He thinks Bolton really really wanted to testify and make mincemeat of Trump. But he wanted to do it only under subpoena, to make it look like he would be testifying against his will – otherwise Trump and the Pubs would try to discredit him by saying he’s just a disgruntled ex-exployee. So Bolton estimated that at least a few Republican Senators would uphold their oaths of office and vote to subpoena him – it would only have taken four. And that was Bolton’s big blunder, thinking that even a mere four Pub Senators would vote to hear him. In fact, only two did, and he was not subpoenaed.
So he chose self-preservation over the interest of the nation.
Bolton is a warmongering asshole who’d have the world embroiled in global nuclear war within ten minutes if he had his way. But from a purely scientific perspective, I find it fascinating that that scary thing on his upper lip must have some fairly close genetic relationship to the scary thing that lives atop Trump’s head. The interesting question is: do these bizarre fungal growths cause unhinged derangement, or are they symptomatic indicators of unhinged derangement?
