Golly, I sure haven’t read anything in the local papers or seen anything in the local TV news about the SPD shooting cop-killers illegally. Must have missed it somewhere.
The same Seattle police force that was so corrupt and violent that the Department of Justice had to [oversee reform?](Seattle Police Department - Wikipedia) A shining beacon of professionalism right there.
The DOJ never criticized them for shooting cop-killers. Where they got in trouble was for lesser actions.
Since I obviously have sympathy for cop-killers, just how many of them have been shot by Seattle’s finest? Please give some cites so I can post nice things about them, because, hey, anyone who questions the actions of the police is surely a cop-killer lover.
You know, it’s not just cops who have long shoot-outs with the sound of their own fire. It’s also a well-known problem in the military.
A partial solution is better training and better supervision. Nobody likes better supervision, and it isn’t realistic for most policing situations. That only leaves better training, and well,
for most police forces, that’s not going to happen either. There’s lots of things I would change in the world if I could, so training people to not fire wildly when they hear gun shots would probably not be at the top of my list.
