This film seems to have fallen under the radar. Didn’t it open across the US this weekend? I can hardly find a word about it.
At any rate, we went to see it - and there were actually quite a few people in the theater to watch it.
Although I guess you could describe it as Thelma and Louise for geriatrics, it was still a sweet film with some nice touches of humor and three great actresses: Kathy Bates, Jessica Lang and Joan Allen. They play three Mormon women who take a road trip and there are some ashes of a dead husband along with them.
Sure, it was predictable in many ways, but still a nice little film. No need to rush to the movie theater, but when it comes out on DVD or is on cable, it is worth a look on one of those rainy days.
