Book recommendations please: Irish American sailors

I have been all over Barnes and Amazon, and having no luck at all. Can anyone recommend either historical or fictional stories about Irish sailors in America? I’ve a friend with a birthday coming up who has an affinity for Irish American history- and sailing. Any ideas?

Start here.

Commodore John Barry was born in Ireland, and is considered to be the father of the American Navy.

Thank you, Mr. Moto!

Go to the same site and search for St. Brendan, lots of books on him, can’t recommend any personally but there are plenty of reviews available there though.
