Help!!
I am going on an impromptu trip to Dublin for about 10 days, and I need some advice on what to see, eat, drink, experience, etc.
Any recommendations?

mmm, lots to see and visit.
national Museum of Modern Art
Book of Kells (in Trinity College)
Writers Museum
Dublin Castle
Guinness Brewery
…
eat:
depends what you’re into. I like the Japanese restaurants Yamamori and Wagamama, but if you’d go to Temple Bar you’ll probably find what you’re looking for. Tante Zoe’s is quite nice, if you like Cajun food. The Oval Bar does nice Irish Stew, but that’s more a winter meal…
Johnny Foxes Pub is famous for its seafood and fish, and well worth a visit.
drink:
the quality of Guinness depends on thepub you’re in, if you’re on the Northside: Fagan’s has a nice pint, so has JW Kavanaghs on Dorset Street (+live music on Thursdays).
The Brazen Head is supposed to be the oldest pub in Dublin, and it has a nice atmosphere…
hope this helps!
Céad míle fáilte!
(a thousand welcomes)
Speaking of Irish help, my mother is looking for information to trace her grandfather, who, with his brother, built a boat and sailed to Canada. My great grandfather then helped found a town (Chepstow, Ontario). I’d imagine it would be much harder to track someone who sailed themselves to the New World than someone who paid money and would be on a passenger manifest. She thinks he was from Co. Kerry. Her maternal side has been in the States since the revolutionary war, and they’ve been prety well documented.
Is there an website to get genealogical information about Irish emigrants? If not a website, how best should she proceed? She’ll probably be going back to Irieland this year or next.
