Bookmark Surfing

Is there any certain order you go through your bookmarks/favorites when you go online?

News to sports to email etc…?

I have folders of bookmarks set up to to open in tabs, one for first thing in the morning and one for last thing in the evening. They’re set up in order of ‘importance’ so that I can just progress left to right through the tabs.

Morning (left to right): two news pages, the Bureau of Meteorology weather page for my city, two login pages for email accounts, the access page for the individual sites of my current university courses, the astronomy ‘picture of the day’ page, three webcomics, two blogs, one message board (guess which one), the local TV guide page and finally, Google, because by the end of that there are probably two or three things I want to look up.

Evening: the university course pages, the two news pages, the weather page and the email login pages.

I check Facebook and Myspace first. (Don’t mock me; it’s quicker than email.)

Then I check SDMB, and then I check all 3 of my email accounts, and then I check http://notalwaysright.com for a laugh.

It’s up for grabs after that; I have bookmarks I check once week, or once a month.

But those first few I check every day like clockwork.

(If Yahoo has intriguing headlines I check those before anything else.)

My bookmarks are like a market full of bric a brac stalls, with specific ones I’ll always have a look on.

I turn on CNN in the background in case there’s something major going on, then I check 2 email accounts, then a forum that I occasionally post on about homeless issues, then I check an old forum and laugh at their 10 month long dramafest in that nasty “I told you so” way, and by then I’m awake enough to come here where I’ll probably post.
