i was off my pace this year. there was a bunch of stuff at the begining of last year, then the end of the year got a bit cat crazy. so i ended up with 266 books read.
looking back through the year there was a bit of: “oh yeah, that was good/interesting/riviting…”.
series wise i enjoyed david weber’s honor harrington series. interesting characters, great battle scenes, and tree cats. who wouldn’t want to be buds with a tree cat?
life and times of the thunderbolt kid was a fun read. as was the shepard, the angel, and walter the christmas miracle dog.
seasoning of a chef was one of my fav. bios. i knew that chefs worked horrible hours, but dang! this was eyeopening.
cozy mysteries involving needlecraft stores got me back into knitting. luckily i can knit and read at the same time!
how 'bout y’all? how did your reading year go?
There’ve been a couple other book round-up/retrospective threads, one here, and the other I can’t find. Man, this is a busy place!
My reading year was great, about 50 books finished, and maybe five stinkers. My favorite – I still can’t get it out of my head – is Eifelheim by Michael Flynn.
Favorite new author is David Mitchell. Former favorites who disappointed – David L. Martin and Stephen King.
My goal for 2008 is to make notes. Some of the books I read last year I can barely remember. Not the fault of the books though!
well, dang, y’all. january reading looked like books to be read to me, so i didn’t think to look in it for books that have been read.
“your favourite reads this year” happened way to early for my year end review. i don’t believe in reviewing the year until the year is totally over. you never know what can happen in those last few hours and minutes!
ah well. just proves that great minds do think alike.
That’s one, but there was another one. Dopers are readin’ fools, we are!
