The entire Left (&Right) Behind series.
nobody’s read any james joyce in here? yeesh!
then again, being an english major has it’s perks. if you wanna call reading 19 books in a semester a “perk”
i call it cruel and unusual punishment. but i ended up getting good grades out of it anyways.
wnyone like melville? (is waiting the for the resounding NO!)
I enjoy non-fiction (but all varieties, just ask!), so I haven’t read these books/plays:
The DaVinci Code
LOTR series (I hate fantasy novels)
Othello (though I’ve seen it performed twice)
Hamlet
King Lear
any science fiction (except Vonnegut)
Left Behind series
any Joyce, except Portrait
My knowledge is spotty, too. For example, I’ve read four or five Philip Roth novels, but nothing by Bellow.
I’m not acquainted with any Hemingway or Updike, and I’ve read only Tortilla Flat by Steinbeck.
Is one of those English Major Perks knowing that the possesive ‘its’ does not take an apostrophe?
Anything found in the “Classic Literature” section of the bookstore. Boring.
Shakespeare - great plots - annoying to read and translate at the same time.
DaVinci Code - sniffsniff* - smells like crap.
Harry Potter - not into magic and fantasy.
Clive Barker - blech!
Neil Gaiman - liked Good Omens well enough, tried to get into the Discworld books, but I couldn’t get past the first couple of pages.
everything by John Grisham and Mary Higgins Clark
