books!...

I’m looking for some medievel romance books… I’l trade you some of my meager canadian money for some used books… or I could trade. if you’re interested, contact me.
nothing TO smutty though… I read the clan of the cave bear series and that was about all I could handle.

please, contact me.

on another note, what boks do you poeple enjoy reading?
personally, I enjoy fantasy.

We should set up a book swap.

I like to read detective novels. Not Agatha Christie type, nor the modern ones about some chick cop who goes around finding some dingoes who killed a baby or whatever. I mean stuff like The Big Sleep and The Maltese Falcon.

I also like funny books.

And nonfiction, about any topic as long as it’s well-written and interesting. Anything can be interesting, actually, as long as it’s well-written. Including The Origin of Socks.

magic, have you tried Diana Gabledon’s Outlander series? They aren’t exactly midievel–they’re set in mid 1700s–but they’re good stories with lots of historical tidbits thrown in.

My standard reading habits tend toward horror or sci fi, but I’ll basically read anything I can get my hands on. My only exception is the throwaway pocket romances—they give me headaches like nothing else in this world.

Get ready for this to be moved to Cafe Society.

(I love predicting thread moves.)

Have you guys seen this coolio web site? BookCrossing

Belladon, I’ve only read the first one. Actually, I finished reading it yesterday. I’m hunting down the other two. Thats exactly the kind of books I want to read; a little bit of magic, a little bit of humor…

Chikki, we SHOULD start a book trade. But I don’thave any mystery. or Non-fiction. just fantasy. But I love funny books.

And gazelle, I’m joining as we speak.

I second the Outlander series. I have read all five books (about 5000 pages!) and can’t wait for the next one to come out. I am convinced that the characters are real people and that someday I will meet Jamie. Keep reading- they are worth it! Also, if you become as obsessed with the series as much as I am, there is an entire message board devoted to it at www.lallybroch.com

Theres 5 of the outlander books? Ithought there was only 3.

There are five so far. In order they are: Outlander, Dragonfly in Amber, Voyager, Drums of Autumn, and The Fiery Cross. All are in paperback but The Fiery Cross, which is due out in paperback sometime this month. Happy hunting!

Gazelle… I joined bookcrosing, and I already have 5 books on thier way to me. I love you!!! you’re my new favorite person.

I’m going to move this to Cafe Society. I think you might get a much broader range of opinions there.

Ok then.

magic8ball, a book that you might like that you may be able to find at your local library in the fantasy/sci-fi section is Mirror of her Dreams and its sequel. I really liked them.

Books! Yay! I love books.

Philip Pullman–The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass are good fantasy books. I had to read the first one for my children’s lit course this semester, and liked it so much I bought the other two. And, by the way, they’re not children’s books. No sirree. Uh-uh.
