Boondock Saints: What does the tattoo say?

I never heard of this movie until a thread here about a month ago, and I finally got to watch it yesterday. Great movie! Two cute guys who kill a lot of bad men, what’s not to love? I know there are other doper chicks who like this type of movie…aren’t there? But now I’m wondering about those tattoos. I know that Conner’s says “truth” (Veritas) but what does Murph’s say? And what language is it? It didn’t look like Latin like his brother’s, but I could be wrong.

Also, did it amuse anyone else that Gerard Parkes played a foul-mouthed bartender? I’m more used to him and Sprocket pondering the existance of doozer sticks…

You too huh, I loved Willem Dafoe’s character.

Anyway, ffrom the official website FAQ:

Q: What does “veritas and aequitas” mean?
A: Veritas means Truth and Aequitas means Equality or Justice.

Both are Latin

Weird, I always thought that his tattoo read Requitas, though I can see how I’d misread it. I don’t think requitas is a real Latin word though.
