Trust me, that is political.
Cynical Gabe
The “Boondocks” series about the grandfather’s ineptitude with the computer was political?
Well, crap. A funny Mallard Fillmore.
Maybe Katrina was the start of the Apocalypse after all.
You should always post a direct link for things like this. You can always get the direct link by clicking the date.
Yes. One of the hallmarks of “Boondocks” is that MacGruder (sp?) usually makes fun of blacks as much as he does whites. In that one he is doing something along the lines of lamenting or mocking the average lower education among blacks (compared to whites).
Uh, right. :dubious: So what’s the political subtext when FoxTrot does the same joke with Roger Fox, techno-clueless Dad?
I didn’t see it as a black/white thing. I saw it as a genrational thing. “Old people and technology” jokes go way back.
Nah, he’s mocking the average shitty computer skills of grandpas.
Ok, rjung and h.sapiens hadn’t posted when I previewed. Honest!
Do you honestly not think Bush’s name would have been swapped out for Kerry’s if the situation were reversed? Whenever something goes awry, no matter how much real responsibility the admin did or did not have, those that didn’t elect that guy are going to say “Well my guy woulda done it better!”
Mildly amusing, not even a half-ping on my offense-o-meter.

Thank you for that tip because I always like to link to cites properly.
If you look at posting #1, I did save the image and if necessary, I would have uploaded it to a webpage where I know it just wouldn’t change - the “brute force” method so to speak. (If you want something done right, do it yourself.)
If I link to a news article (especially if it is a newspaper cite), sometimes I will copy the article and upload it to a webpage. Online newspaper articles have a tendency to “die” after a few days. Then again people might say, “how do we know if you didn’t change the article, Wolf?” (There’s just no way to win is there?)
Hey, I see this duck flying and if I shoot it, I’ll win $20 !!! Okay here goes - nope. I’ll try again …
Yeah, that too. I had read it differently, but you might be right.
As far as Foxtrot goes… Boondocks is funnier.
Yeah, I went overboard with the “always”. Shoot me.
All you had to do was click on the date and you’d have a link good for the next 30 days. No brute force necessary.
Sure, but FoxTrot has beaucoup geek creds. It’s the only comic strip I read every day where the calculus and physics are accurate.

No, I think your criticism was warranted. Having my own website for the last 6 years, I should know about all aspects of linking to a site. (It also explains why I’d rather just upload a graphic or article then make a link to that and be done with it.)
So anyway, no offense taken.
I couldn’t tell, you were a mite snippy back there.
All’s well and good, then.
Lute Skywatcher
Wow - then it is good that I posted my explanation.
If I seemed angry it was just that I was mad at myself. (It’s pretty rare when I screw up a link and I’m not too happy even when it is a minor screwup).

Well, no, because Kerry, a man of proven competency, would have a) appointed a qualified person to head FEMA and b) been on top of the situation.
“Boondocks” is actually funniest when it’s nonpolitical, and just doing “curmudgeonly Grandpa” strips. At least it’s gotten away from a long string of strips featuring Huey and his yes-man Caesar.
If I do, do I win $20, or just get a virus?
This is so amusing. Losing side fantasy: Yes, but insert wanker name here would have:
a) prevented 9/11
b) stopped global warming
c) figured out who shot JFK
To the winner goes the day-to-day reality, complete with fuckups, and to the loser goes the opportunity to predict in comic-book fashion how their hero never makes a mistake.
In truth, Kerry probably would have helped avert the entire Katrina disaster. He’d have summoned the assistance of the senior Senator from Massachusetts, and that great windbag would have blown the hurricane back over the Yucatan peninsula.
