Born Rich???

This article, http://www.abcnews.go.com/wire/Entertainment/ap20021022_1207.html made me wonder…was anyone here born into privilege? If so, what are the perks and pitfalls of being born rich? No need to divulge numbers…but is life really different for you?

Not having to work for a living; never worrying about what something costs; attending private schools and having a nanny to take care of the children shouldn’t have any effect on the quality of life. We should be hearing from one of these people when they get around to having the butler type it out.

I only wish I was able to answer your question from the perspective of someone born into riches.

Well, the house is so big I get lost sometime, or stuck wading through the piles of diamonds, but Cadbury’s always around to lend a hand. I’ve been thinking of asking Professor Keenbean to make an invention like a jet scooter of some kind that could help me out, seeing as how he did such a good job with Irona, the robot maid.

Down, Dollar, down! You’re slobbering on my solid gold keyboard!

Surely out of the hundreds, if not thousands of people who check this board daily, someone was born into privilege and can share the experience.

Me? Well, I did have to clean the solid gold toilet in our trailer house myself. And my brother and sister just hated it when the servants got all the good stuff from the food bank food before we got to it.

Give me millions of dollars. Then, I’ll have a kid, raise him/her in the lap of luxury and 18 years down the line, I’ll have him/her answer your question as completely as possible.

I would submit that as a child, as long as you have toys and friends and people around you that love and protect you, life is about the same for the “middle-to-low” income and the rich. Its when you get a little older, say early teens when the benefit of having the bucks starts to kick in. By that time, you are pretty much used to having the perks (new, fancy toys; motorcycles; nice home in a resort town with great schools; absence of crime).
Thats when you parents make it real clear that what you have is not what you will always have without hard work and dedication…
I guess the short answer is, “Yeah, it kicks ass!” Having the ability to live outside the framework of a budget is pretty cool. The only pitfall I can think of is you can never go down, so the hard work is needed to maintain your station of life. ( Well, not for the uber-rich. Those fuckers don’t have to do anything! And they are pretty much immune from prosecution of the law, too!)
