Boston Legal 1/24

Denny gets a manicure, Betty White becomes a convenience store robber, Alan prefers to be alone as long as there are other people around, and then he spars with an HMO on the grounds that their website wasn’t quite secure enough to keep a man from finding out his wife’s whereabouts and killing her.
Bev is not exactly a woman to be toyed with. She may have Denny in her hip pocket, but if you challenge her on it, she sets your necktie on fire.

Best line: Alan to Denny: “I’ve hardly seen you this episode.”

I was about to post to see if anyone was watching this show. damn this is funny

Dang, you beat me to it.

This has become a must watch every Tuesday. Shatner is hilarious. Now, whenever I have a brain fart, I blame it on my “mad cow”.

I looove William Shatner. I am curious how this whole Bev thing will turn out, I’m worried that Denny will get his heart broken, but we’ll see. Wedding cliffhanger, anyone??

Love the Michael J. Fox story line also. I know it will not have a happy ending, but I am thoroughly enjoying Fox even when he’s only onscreen for a short time.

I simply love everything about this show!!!

That line really caught me off guard.

I don’t really watch this show regularly but I couldn’t take another showing of that “Very Special” Law & Order:SVU episode.

Does Denny really have Mad Cow disease or is he just a bit insane and uses that as an excuse?

He got tested for Alzheimer’s a few episodes back where he was really playing up the Mad Cow thing. If memory serves from that episode, he does have some sort of a memory problem going, but he is not progressing into dementia.

This line caught me off guard as well. I wonder if it was an improvisation.

Another good line, paraphrased from memory–Betty White to Shatner: “Do you remember me, or did that memory fall out of your whiffleball brain?”

I know the feeling.

In a previous episode, there was a case where a town was trying to outlaw meat within its boundaries. One of the reasons they offered was mad cow, particularly how the symptoms could be similar to Alzheimer’s, and how millions of Americans who thought they had the latter could actually have had the former. Denny jumped on it (as Dragwyr said, he has been tested for Alzheimer’s and has the early signs, particularly some memory loss, though it is not progressing), and has been telling everyone since about his having mad cow  Even apart from that whole thing though, he is still a tiny bit insane in his own right. Without a little crazy, he wouldn’t be… Denny Crane!

I am pretty sure that this is the highest quality show on prime-time right now, even though (or maybe because) the writers have been throwing politics around a lot more lately.

I liked the little “alone, with other people around” talk… probably because it reminds me of myself a little.
