BOT's and interferance

Without going into detail my SO and I were amusing ourselves with a Battery Operated Toy (BOT) and in doing so, I noticed that whenever we increased the speed, the reception on the televison would become static-y.

I think I understand why this normally happens when she is vacuuming the room because they ( the television and vacuum) are sharing an electrical source, but why did it happen when the power source is remote from that of the television?

In otherwords, why would using a few AA batteries interfere with my television reception? Does the actual vibration cause this phenomena?

Little sparks from the brush assembly cause RF noise; this is a potential problem with many types of electric motor.

[sub]oh, and You had the TV on?[/sub]

well it was a spur of the moment kind of thing
