It means you get to answer any Yes/No question to get detailed information about the person. So far the questions answered have been:
No, I am not American.
Yes, I am male.
Remember that, in Boticelli, if I can give a name for somebody in an indirect question, like the above “Do you pity the foo,” it does not mean my person does not necessarily pity the foo. He could pity the foo, he just isn’t Mr. T, who pities the foo.
I must only answer yes to an indirect question if it both describes my chosen guise AND I cannot think of anyone else with the proper initials who fits the bill.
