Tawk amongst yourselves, then please ask all earned “Are you Firstname Lastname?” questions by noon EDST Friday.

So a guy from a musical or comedy movie from source material created 1973-1979 (maybe a play?), by an American author or authors. First name Ea-Em (but not Ed), last name A-M.
First name not particularly common. Not the protagonist nor the antagonist. Caucasian.
Not from a genre piece.

If it’s a play Neil Simon was really busy in the 70’s. So was Tom Stoppard, but he’s not American.

Time to think…

This guess stretches “not main character”, but here goes:

Are you Elwood Blues?

I am not.

Emmett, Elmo, Ellery, Eccles, Eames,…

Not comin’ up with much.

Elmer, Elvis, Einar, Emerson…

I keep thinking someone from Animal House (based on a National Lampoon article), but no one fits.

Are you Elliott from E.T.?

I am not.

But DLR was on the right track. I am

Emil Faber

Namesake and founder of Faber College in Animal House, seen at 0:17 here. Knowledge is good!

Well, Animal House is on my list of movies I should’ve seen but never got around to. So, I don’t know Emil.

I saw it when was first released but not since then.

And for a while I was thinking “Eric Stratton - rush chairman - damn glad to meet you” but of course the last name initial was wrong.

I’ve seen the movie, and the opening, but the namesake of Faber College never really sank in.

Hope you will! It’s a lot of fun.

Shall I go again?

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Uh… I guess that’s a “No.” Who’d like to go next, and start a thread for May?

Except DLR was quoting Animal House, which indicates they saw it, in which case EH goes again.

If not, then it reverts back to the previous host, which was SCAdian.

(Yes, I’ve seen it, and if I’d remembered to ask if the character actually appears in-story I might’ve gotten the answer.)

So, yes, go again EH!

DLR might have seen the movie but not remembered Faber himself, but OK, thanks!

Next round: Botticelli - May 2024

You should probably start a new thread [edit: never mind, I see one has been started].
