Yes. The hint in post #87 sent me to Wikipedia, to look at Xmas carols. Found one singer (whom, as I say, I’d never heard of before) who seemed to fit, and did a Google search based on post #85 to confirm. And then wondered if I could legitimately use my new-found knowledge…
Could we wait until after Christmas to start the next round, please? (I’ll be off-line)
Suits me - or, Chockfull, you could start a new thread in the New Year, if you like…?
That works for me too. Between family activities and travel, my internet access will be pretty sporadic the next two weeks.
I’ll start a new thread the first Monday in January.
That lets me out. I know nothing! (Not quite, but not much about people.)
Makes my personal library of 20,000+ books sort of pointless, much less my skills (moderate) as an Internet searcher.
A new game in January is fine with me. Looking forward to it!
The game is about what’s between your ears, not what’s on your shelf. But now you have time to read some of those books! Hope you’ll return for the next round, pwmeek.
I’ve read almost all of them, and a lot of them more than once; a few I have read 5-10 times. I estimate that I have read over 50,000 books in my life. In high school I was tested to read at 3,000 wpm with 95% retention (short term).
The trouble is, not much of this prepares me for Botticelli: one of the few genres I don’t care much for is biography.
My parents used to play Botticelli with friends back in the '50 and '60s. It was a fast-moving party game (of course with no research). I seem to recall games lasting 15-20 minutes per name in that group.
One of the things I hate about Xmas - people are always using it as an excuse for not doing things…
New thread is up here
