In addition to directing, he also did a lot of storyboarding, which to me is a type of writing for animation. Hence the “in a sense” in #8.
Although most famous for his work on Looney Tunes, Merrie Melodies, and at MGM, he spent the 1960s and 1970s animating television commericals and working on Saturday morning cartoons for Hanna-Barbera. (#12)
