Please ask all earned DQs by noon EST tomorrow.

Well, that rules out my Slenderman suspicion.

DQ: from a song?

@Elendiil_s_Heir
I think you forgot to go back and answer these DQs from kitap (which are probably the ones I would like to ask if I had any DQs left)

Final DQ: unusual last name?

So, to sum up:

We have a fictional somewhat antagonistic male unseen character whose last name begins with S, likely created between 1950-1960, and neither originally from prose, TV, movies, theater, and comics, nor adapted into prose, TV, movies, theater, and comics. We’ve ruled out children’s songs but not songs in general, or–if it’s not covered by TV–advertizing.

I dunno, man.

Also ruled out mythology (created after 1950) and folklore (not an urban legend).

“accounts differ, but probably created after 1950” also points at an uncertain origin.

Also the interestingly ambigous “American among other” creators suggests something that arose culturally rather than being designed. So something sort of meme-like but from around the 50’s.

I’m leaning towards something like Kilroy or Mr. Yuk. Except “unseen character” implies there’s a narrative.

Sorry, don’t know how I overlooked those two earlier DQs from kitap.

Continue to tawk amongst yourselves, and ask all earned “Are you Firstname Lastname?” questions by noon EST Friday, please.

There’s an awful lot of songs to cover.

Time to think.

So he’s something of an antagonist, so maybe he took somebodies girl or is in some way acting as an obstruction.

The time of creation and the creator is somewhat ambiguous so it could be a folk song.

Unfortunately since I started wracking my brains for song S last names I have “Mr. Sandman”, who fails at least 4 of the criteria, running through my brain non-stop.

At least your earworm starts with an “S”; I keep getting stuck on “Tom Dooley”.

Maybe something from a musical?

I’m stuck on M.T.A.

Its not originally from theater which I think would probably rule that out. Also a musical would probably having a well defined creation date and author nationality.
