Ahhhh… I remembered her first as Catwoman on the campy Adam West ***Batman ***series. Nobody ever called her Selina Kyle on that show, but I had to try SOMETHING.

  19. Not known as a criminal or bad guy- FAR from it. I was almost universally regarded as a very nice man.
  20. Not from any Scandinavian land.
Okay, time for a few hints:
  1. As noted earlier, my “day job” was as a clergyman, theologian and scholar… but almost nobody remembers me for that. Everyone remembers me for something I’d rather NOT be remembered for (and which SOME sources claim I rarely or never really did)

  2. There’s a word in the dictionary that comes from my name (but I find that word more than a bit embarrassing)

  3. There’s a much more obvious country whose language is Germanic in origin.

DQ 20 was a mistake because I frequently confuse east and west.

However, I would like to take a guess, as this man is named after another one of my flawquent fres.

Are you the Reverend William Archibald Spooner?

YES!!! Well done!

I am Reverend William Archibald Spooner, a don at Oxford University, where I taught philosophy, divinity and history. I was well respected, well liked, a capable college administrator. But no one much remembers my genuine accomplishments- all they remember is my (alleged) malapropisms… such as referring to Victoria as “our Queer Old Dean.”
Of course, as Yogi Berra put it so well, I didn’t really say all the things I said.

Congratulations, KnowedOut.

Ah, good choice! And, well done, Owed Nowt!

Excellent choice. Way to go, Old Newt!

Reverend Spooner is sometimes used in cryptic crosswords, thus my familiarity with him.

The new letter is D.

  1. Are you a Disney character whose motto was: “Let’s get dangerous!”?
  2. Did you perfect your oratory prowess by putting pebbles in your mouth?
  3. Did you portray Victor Prinzim and his alter ego in more than one movie?
