Politician?
Adams. How could you forget ADAMS?

While we’re waiting…
Is there a “master post” with the rules we’re going by? Parameters for questions, etc. I’d like to read up as a refresher, especially if I happen to host a round at some point. Along those lines, is someone compiling a list of subjects so we don’t pick one already done?
IQ1: Did you allege that you were attacked by thugs who asked “What’s the frequency, Kenneth?”
IQ2: In The Court Jester, did your character fumble with a rhyme to remember which drink was poisoned?
IQ3: Are you currently the best selling author alive?
We more or less go by the rules here, with the option to reserve DQs. EH maintains a separate thread of the letters we’ve used, going back 5 years!
My memory is shit, but other players do remember when we’ve used names before. It’s only happened twice that I can recall. I think the art of picking names that aren’t too obvious makes this kind of self-governing.
I’ve remarked when I thought a question was too vague before, so I’d say it’s up to the players to determine parameters when such issues come up.
Thanks, KO. You can also search “Botticelli” and a particular name to see if it’s been used in the past.
Cool; thanks.
DQ.
Not Doris Day.
(Love the way you worded that, BTW.)

Well, I’ve never actually read any of those books…
DQ: Actress?
IQs:
- Are you Kenneth Robeson’s best known creation?
- Did Benedict Cumberbatch play you in a blockbuster movie last year?
- Have you been plated by Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Grant, Jim Broadbent and Joanna Lumley?
A few more points re names:
If the person has a multi-word name but no surname, the first and last words of the name are the “first name” and “last name” for questions such as Last name begins with X? For instance, Sitting Bull’s “first name” is Sitting; his “last name” is Bull.
We use the most common form of the person’s name. Stephen Grover Cleveland can be used for G or C, but not as an S. Similarly, Thomas Woodrow Wilson can only be used as a W, not as a T.
If the person’s middle name (John Philip Sousa, Louisa May Alcott) or initial (D H Lawrence, James K Polk) are more or less always used when speaking of him/her/it, it’s okay to use the middle name as the basis for an IQ. Using it as the basis for a game, however, is frowned upon.
I did start making a list of people who had been used for games, but gave it up when I started having computer problems last year.
Being Doc Savage once was quite enough, thank you.
DQ.
Do you mean gold-plated or silver-plated, or is the difference not important? Either way, DQ.
