Another house rule, for divemaster’s edification:

We play until 20 DQs have been answered by the host. After that the host may, at his/her/its discretion, offer to answer all remaining reserved DQs. The host then gives a final deadline (usually a day or two away) before which all persons who were awarded a DQ during the game can ask one more DQ, using the format “Are you Firstname Lastname?”

Ah; ok.

Do we have to ask IQs in threes as a rule?

IQ1: Did you play a really nasty mother (you hired a hitman to kill your daughter’s boyfriend) where the movie daughter was played by your real life daughter?

IQ2: Were you a very popular recording artist who transitioned into a TV host/variety personality, and also made a name in golf?

IQ3: Did you run as a Democrat in the 1988 presidential primaries; appear on ballots as a Populist in that same election; and as a Republican in the 1992 presidential primaries?

You can ask fewer than three IQs, but never more than that.

I’d already asked about Bette Davis in post 316.

Previous IQs:

Were you the star of the Seventies sitcom Angie? - Donna Pescow
Did you play Mary Bailey? - Donna Reed, in It’s a Wonderful Life
Did you play Tasha Yar? - Denise Crosby, on Star Trek: The Next Generation

Hmm. Not sure who this is. Three DQs reserved for now.

Three DQs.

No. We just do it that way to speed up play. One, two, or three, but no more than three. If you ask three, and then think of a better question, but it’s too late to edit, you can ask the host to ignore one of the previous three and answer your new question instead (as EH did in post 69 of this thread).

Also, if you are given a DQ but someone else has already been awarded a DQ based on the same person, you lose your DQ. ETA: If I’d noticed the Bette Davis repeat, I would have answered only one of your two DQs. But I didn’t, so I did.

And if the host reveals the name and no one has heard of the person, the previous host takes over (as was also done earlier in this thread).

Ok; I guess part of the game is sussing out other people’s IQ’s? I didn’t know about the previous Bette Davis question, b/c it wasn’t answered until after I made up my own B.D. question.

IQ1: Did you play a really nasty mother (you hired a hitman to kill your daughter’s boyfriend) where the movie daughter was played by your real life daughter? Dianne Ladd; in the movie Wild at Heart (movie/real life daughter is Laura Dern)

IQ2: Were you a very popular recording artist who transitioned into a TV host/variety personality, and also made a name in golf? Dinah Shore

IQ3: Did you run as a Democrat in the 1988 presidential primaries; appear on ballots as a Populist in that same election; and as a Republican in the 1992 presidential primaries? David Duke

I’ll let someone else round out the 20; I had the last two.

Viola Davis, Rosario Dawson, Ellen DeGeneris

OK, let’s get the train rolling…

DQ: Born east of the Mississippi?
DQ: Born north of Mason-Dixon line?

I’m drawing a blank on this actress. I yield my three DQs, one apiece, to anyone who’d like to ask 'em.

That’s a very good guess.

Seems to fit!
