Take a DQ for #3.

DQs:

  1. Real
  2. Female
  3. Not American
  4. Known for the arts

IQ: Are you not for turning?

That’s a fascinating question. Take a DQ.

An alliterative assemblage for the asking…

IQ1: Though not a member, are you commonly associated with the Group of Seven?
IQ2: Are you a tap dancer?
IQ3: Are you a choreographer?

Take a DQ for #1.
I’m not Shirley Temple.
I’m not Tommy Tune.

BTW, do you know of Theodore Gericault?

VERY GOOD getting Taft!

The Lady is not for turning.

DQ: Are you a political or military figure?

DQs:

  1. Real
  2. Female
  3. Not American
  4. Known for the arts
  5. Not a political/military figure

Tommy Tune was actually the tap dancer I was after, though Shirley Temple will do nicely and Mr. Tune is now a choreographer.

#1. is Tom Thomson, the iconic Canadian painter who died in 1917, three years before the Group of Seven formed. He and Emily Carr were not among the ten people who were members, though they are often (mistakenly) included.

DQ: Are you alive?

We discussed ‘The Raft of the Medusa’ in art history class, and I remember the chapter on it in Julian Barnes’ book “A History of the World in 10 1/2 Chapters”. I might have even remembered that Delacroix was one of the models for the painting, but I don’t think I could have dredged Gericault’s name up under hypnosis.

DQs:

  1. Real
  2. Female
  3. Not American
  4. Known for the arts
  5. Not a political/military figure
  6. Alive

The test is if any other Botticelli players have heard of him or her. No one has said they have.

But most of us at least did admit to recognizing The Raft of the Medusa, so I’m all for it counting. (Not that I would actually recognize the painting, but I remember the name.)

IQ1: Have you played an angel, a witch, and a man?
IQ2: Did a small cartoon start out as part of your show and end up a standalone that’s been on the air for decades?
IQ3: Does your son see dead people?

Well, I’ve always played fair. So, if three people say Gericault was famous enough for me to continue with T, I will. Otherwise the game reverts to the person who hosted before me: Elendil’s Heir. Fair enough?

ETA: First vote: Draelin’s vote counts for me continuing.
