Botticelli - Sep 2013

I have a feeling I’m not gonna know this guy. I give up.

I give up, too (in case it’s not already obvious).

Ditto what SCAdian said.

Since I see most of you are stumped and have nobody in mind, I will reveal my identity.

I am Halldór Laxness, Iceland’s most famous writer known for his poetry, novels, plays and short stories. He is also the first and only Icelandic Nobel laureate (he won one in Literature obviously).

Ah. Hmm. Never heard of him.

No, call it laxness on my part, but I’ve never heard of him either. Off to the library…

Sorry about that guys… I thought he was well-known.

Hey, it happens. He IS well-known, just not by me in this case. I just had the same thing happen with French artist Theodore Gericault.

I, too, have had people who are household names to me turn out to be less well known than I thought.

Missed the edit window - Graham Yost and Urbain Grandier spring to mind…

So, what now? I start the new round right away or do I wait for the October thread to be created?

Better wait until Elendil’s Heir and SCAdian have had a chance to weigh in. Then, start the October thread.

Don’t look at me - I never heard of him, either.

Nor have I heard of Le Ministre’s two…

Never heard of him either. Sorry.
