I used to like Boyo’s posts but the last few months he seems to be getting more crotchity. As mentioned above, it’s all some people have. I feel he’s starting to become that guy. In context (message board post) that OP was fine. More broadly I agree with the OP, it is a shitty way to treat new-comers
Kudos? I don’t think so. Maybe he’s smart enough to know he was wrong and any defense would likely make it worse. If he comes in and admits he was being a dick, then kudos.

To be fair, Jim, this was less a pitting about that one instance in my OP (you got your lumps for it, so I consider it a closed matter) and more about a phenomenon in this board’s culture where we are desperate to prove to the internet that we are the smartest people on the planet. We basically come off as very exclusionary and snotty and I’m sure we’ve lost quite a few potential members who otherwise would have added great things to the discussions here.
