Brady Bunch House Made History

‘Brady Bunch’ house declared a historic landmark

For authenticity sake they should remove all the toilets.

I had typed “no word on the bathroom schedule” but removed it before posting!

Did the article mention how that house was chosen for the exterior shots in TBB, or how the location became publicly known?

It was never a secret. I grew up not too far from there contemporary to the show and people knew where it was. The interior was nothing like the actual show.

A few years ago one cable channel (Discovery?) had a series in which they tried to replicate the television interiors in that house. This was complicated by the fact that the real house is only one story.

I didn’t think it was a secret, exactly, but in the days before the Internet I don’t know where people could go to find out stuff like that. There’s a TV series that was filmed partially in Boston in the early '70s. I’ve gone to IMDb and looked up some of the locations that were used. I’ve always kinda wondered who was the keeper of that knowledge after the show ended, and before it could be shared online.

There were books that collected information like this.

In addition to books kids sold maps on the Sunset Strip that had addresses of homes of movie and tv stars as well as famous shoot locations.
