Umm Brazil, when you’re down 6-0 it’s not really your striker you should be booing…
I’ve never seen anything like it. The USA’s defense was very bad against Belgium(saved only by the goalie), but not this bad.
Rioting tonight in Brasil?
At that point, they’re booing the “0” part.
Woah! What a goal!!!
Wow! 7-0.
Seven!!!
7-0!
This might be the weirdest game I’ve ever watched. I had to think a while to come up with an adjective - weird doesn’t really describe it; it’s more funny mixed with depressing blended with horrifying and sprinkled with some morbid fascination.
7-0
What.
Seven.
I’m a big Germany fan, but they won’t have an easy game against the Netherlands or Argentina.
That was a great finish, 7-0
I’ve heard Brasilians have been visiting Disney parks in droves over the past few years. It’d almost be worth it to buy a Germany jersey for my trip down there in December.
At this point it’s kind of understandable, there’s just no point anymore. No need to go full out and get somebody hurt.
I think Brazil are taking the concept of making sure your guests have a good time entirely to far.
They just showed Ronaldo (the retired Brazilian one with no first name) who does broadcasts now. I know his post-mortem will be mostly about Silva’s yellow with a dash of Neymar’s injury.
I do feel for Brazil as a whole. This was supposed to be their moment to shine. Now they’re embarrassed.
This will certainly be a memorable game. It will be discussed for decades.
We have a new go to example of blowing it.
Is that really the Brazilian crowd Ole-ing Germany?
nm lol
OK, despite this embarrassing game, a couple of things:
Ronaldo is the player’s first name, and also his nickname. Also, this is the farthest the Brazilian team has gotten since their last World Cup win in 2002. In 2006 and 2010, they didn’t make it to the semi-finals, I’m not sure they even made it to the quarter finals. At least this time they’ll have a chance to play with either Argentina or Netherlands.
I think that this is a first for Brazil. I think that never in their entire soccer history have they had 7 goals against in one game.
This game is definitely going into the annals of the World Cup!
And, honestly, I now fear for the safety of the Brazilian players. I remember what happened to poor Andrés Escobar in 1994…!
