Brasil 2014

An entertaining game so far.

Thanks was maybe the best half in a World Cup final in the last 25 years.

Now someone needs to score a goal.

What stupid official decided the kick-off should be at 8pm GMT? I missed the first 15 minutes. Anyway, for a 0-0 halftime score its been enjoyable so far. The Argentinians looking more dangerous apart from that last minute header.

You cannot be offside on a corner kick.

I like Argentinas game plan and think they have a decent chance of winning this.

A Guinness ad just about made me barf.

Sorry, my mistake. :smack:

Kramer looked absolutely out of it, like he was drunk out of his mind. Very scary that he was allowed to run around on the pitch before that.

I’m impressed with Argentina so far but I’m scared that they won’t be able to soak up that kind of pressure without conceding a goal.

What a great first half…Argentina without di Maria and Germany without Khedira led to some messy midfield play, but the tempo has been great.

Germany are weak on the left. Need to watch that.
I think it might end up like 1990, a single goal of a set piece.

Yeah, i just rolled my eyes and said to my wife, “I guess Guinness is getting in on the ‘Fellate the Troops’ advertising bandwagon.”

Why’s 8pm a bad start time?

It looks to me like the Argentines reviewed the Germany/Algeria match with interest. Algeria created several chances by attacking the left and right backs to the outside, and Argentina have had a lot of success on the left side today. Meanwhile I believe that Lahm has since moved to right back, and I’m not sure if Argentina have even bothered to attack that side. Germany are going to have to get their left flank figured out if they want to win this match.

Im pretty sure you can be. Though the factors involved are a bit more complicated. If the header had brushed past an offside German player(the ball doesnt even have to touch him) standing near the line then the ref **can **call offside. Its one of those grey areas.

Because its not 9pm. That is the usual time these evening matches have kicked off. I assumed tonights match would be 9pm too.

The start time is one hour before all the other games so far. I missed the first ten minutes. :smack:

Agüero? Surely it’s not time for him yet.

I don’t know Higuaín celebrates that first-half goal without checking the flag first. Even I could see he was a mile offside.

That was close for Messi.

From the FIFA Laws of the Game:

Poor Higuain’s not having a great day is he?

Nope. That looked like some kind of kung-fu move from Neuer . . . Don’t think it was intentional, though.
