Well, we love to play England (except for that 1966 incident), but Italy is just even better at winning ugly than we are.
Much as I enjoyed seeing Costa Rica (I have cousins from there) beat Uruguay, it’s hard to see how this “opens up the group”. If anything, it just makes it more likely that the two teams going through will be England and Italy.
There was a pretty good one I saw in the Chile v Australia match. I can’t remember who made it, though…
Don’t forget this one.
Sorry!

Don’t forget this one.

Nah, that was only a qualifier. Nothing important…and didn’t have penalty shots…Ok, it did hurt a bit.
I’m stuck on the PC tonight, so don’t have the option sadly. Phil Neville is doing supporting duty on the TV commentary, and what he’s saying is all sensible, but by fuck he has the delivery of a sat-nav.
Oh, nice set play there.
Goal for Italy!
England better, Italy scores. As usual.
Nice wee dummy by Pirlo there, left the England defense confused for just long enough
Oh wow… England!!
Good reply!
Just when I was going to say how dull this game was, 2 quick scores.
It’s not usual that England is better, and indeed, in this match, they really aren’t. Although that Sturridge goal was very nice. Nice dancing too!
Haha, when I saw the Italians drenching themselves after the score, I knew that this would turn out to be a weird game.
Did I catch the commentators correctly? The England physio got injured in the goal celebration?
At once you see the problem with England and the problem of England. They have masses of pace so must play on the counter. But defensively we are not great, so inviting the opposition into us always runs the risk of conceding. Hence going one down and almost immediately pulling it back.
And the England trainer injures himself celebrating. I don’t know what happened, but they looked quite concerned.
Think I heard the same - something about his ankle?
So what the hell was Hart doing there?
Lineker just said the guy dislocated his ankle. Ouch.
