Michael Ballack is really good, too.
The bastard.

He’s doing the BBC, and he’s been fine so far. The best BBC guys have been Clarence Seedorf and Thierry Henry - they were on with Robbie Savage at the weekend and were subtly taking the piss out of him.
Oh aye, it’s cringeworthy. Poor fella.
Haha, excellent work by the boy Lineker.
I also enjoyed one of the replies:
@GaryLineker Nice to see Henry & Seedorf have brought their hairdresser with them.
Germany in all white… that is just plain wrong.
Germany led from a legit but somewhat soft penalty. But now 2-0 off a corner! Terrific header.
ETA: Germany have kept Ronaldo relatively quiet.
Wow, red card against Portugal’s Pepe!
Oh, Pepe, you dumbshit.
A red for Pepe… I’m sooo enjoying this. This could become very ugly!
Pepe’s red mist descends once more
3-0. Thomas Müller. Poor defending and goal keeping from Portugal.
Germany looks very good… Portugal not so much. Wow.
Man, Portugal is an instantly unlikable side, and I had no rooting interest here before turning on the game. Lousy body language, incriminating looks at teammates. They can’t seem to stop worrying about what the referee thinks: lots of exaggeration/simulation (more than Germany, anyway), and then every time a (legitimate) call goes against them they whine to the ref. And then of course it all boils over and Pepe headbutts a guy! Ok, he was acting a bit and playing up the foul, but you did actually whack him in the face, and if you’re playing for Portugal apparently you don’t have standing to accuse someone else of diving.
Personally, I’ve always felt that all white uniforms are really snazzy. YMMV.
We got 3/4 of the goals, and a red card. If nothing else, the German game-plan to render Ronaldo ineffective will be a good part of the USA game-plan when the US plays Portugal. Now onto the hat-trick for Mueller!
ETA: Oh, I see, you meant for Germany to lose badly and Ronaldo to get carded. Well, now the USA has to look for 2nd place to advance. And that’ll still mean a win tonight (Ghana) and next Monday with Portugal.
Criminy.
As a US supporter, I was hoping for a GER-POR draw today. Now I have to assume that Germany advances.
Pepe being out helps our chances in the midfield next week, but it’s going to be a matter of how Portugal responds. If they have their shit together and channel all of today’s humiliation effectively against the US, we’re probably fucked.
Regardless, we still have to take three points from Ghana today.
This has to be the ideal result for the USA… our best bet of advancing is to come in second behind Germany, meaning we want Germany to beat Portugal and Ghana as badly as possible. And the more red cards and frustrations Portugal has coming into their game vs. us, the better.
Obviously we MUST beat Ghana later on today…
I’m half German, and though I’ve always admired their team, I don’t really root for them. Depending on how honorably they behave when they inevitably beat the US, they may finally become a legitimate secondary rooting interest. So far, what’s not to like?
No, you were right: “Germany drops four on Portugal” means that Germany scores four goals.
