S. Korea 0 Algeria 3, and it’s not even half time yet!
The perfect antidote to the Belgium v Russia match.
Korea looking quite a lot better at the start of the second half. They scored one goal quickly, and have been playing with more purpose.
And the Algerians just scored a lovely goal. Back to a 3-goal difference. This is a fun game to watch.

This is why I make a point of watching the “lesser” footballing nations during the World Cup; they can so often produce matches like this.
And now 4-2.
Anyone who skipped this game has really missed out. It’s lots of fun.
Chance after chance after chance. Goals goals goals. Both teams going all out to win. Very little histrionics from the players. Decent officiating.
I can’t find anything not to like about this match apart from the fact that it’s going to end shortly.
This whole Cup has been ridiculously entertaining.

Poor Korea. Not a great match for them.
Thankfully a day back watching the games at home. I don’t think neither my liver nor my bank balance could handle any more. And as I wrote on those there Facebooks:

Not a good start, to say the least.
Yeah, bad defending at the back, and Howard didn’t help himself either.
He was already in trouble, but he went down before the shot and basically left Nani with an open goal.
Just looked like miscommunication about which US defender was going to play the ball. Just a terrible goal visually.
Holy crap, what a FAIL for us. We passed directly to an open Portugal player standing in the box. Sheesh!!
But our attack is looking very good now!

I don’t now if everybody is watching this on ESPN at halftime, but Landon Donovan is the most wooden, monotone dude I’ve ever seen.
US should have equalized, but for a great save off the line by the Portuguese defender.
