That was quite the game, glad I stayed up for it. Now to bed as I have to get up for work in five and a half hours.
Bleah. Funny, I said “I’m happy with a tie” up above when it was 1-1, but what I’m feeling now isn’t exactly happiness. We were so close.
Still in the game, though - just have to tie with Germany. Haha - not exactly “just” . . .

They were the better team all day, and should have got the win. Also, i would have loved to see that smug fat-face Cristiano Ronaldo going home right now.

Well, before the game started, we would happily take a draw, so, hard not to be happy with this.
If Ghana and Portugal draw, we go through. If we get even a point vs Germany (obviously not easy) we go through. And even if we lose we’re still in decent shape due to our goal differential, particularly if Portugal beat Ghana.
So… super fingers crossed.

Damn, that was a weird game. With so many chances it was only a matter of time before Portugal broke through. It seemed like USA went into prevent defense for the last 10-20 minutes and finally got burned after many good chances.
Tough tie for the USA though. They absolutely gifted Portugal their first goal, and the USA missed a sure goal. They still have a fantastic chance of advancing, but this is a hard tie to swallow.
Is this right? I just saw the graphic on TV and they made it seem like the US only goes through with a win or draw
Any of them can go through with 4 points. Got to fancy Ghana against Portugal, though. They are good down the right and Portugal just don’t seem to be able to defend there at all. Ronaldo not totally fit either.
Goal difference is the US’s friend at the moment. They could still go through with a narrow loss to Germany, and a narrow win by Portugal. A Ghanaian win would be a problem though.
Personally I think we’ll see a manufactured draw against Germany.
