I know we had a thread just about the NJ (or was it DC?) Housewives but it pretty much became a general discussion on the Real Housewives. Since so many people who watch one show on Bravo watch others, I decided to make one thread for all of them.
Who else is watching the Housewives, Millionaire Matchmaker, the Fashion Show, and the rest? I’m pretty much a Housewives and Millionaire Matchmaker fan. (Though I’ll be tuning into Fashion Show next week when the Jersey Housewives show up.)
How creepy was the bald Millionaire Matchmaker dude with the balrut? (Not that eating balrut is creepy–but his whole aura and insistence that she try it was weird.)
I watch bits and pieces of Atlanta and Beverly Hills – small doses only. Camille is indeed sad, but from what I’ve seen, she’s also a right bitch, drama queen, and fame whore and good for Kelsey, dumping her.
I like Lisa and Adrienne and Kyle. Kim needs medication, and not the kind she’s taking on her own. Taylor’s duck lips are too distracting. Didn’t Lisa Rinna have her lips reduced? Taylor needs to consider that.
Atlanta this season, it’s fun to watch Sheree in another delusional career. I’m liking Nene better this season, and Kim too.
The Sundance channel is running The Comeback, Lisa Kudrow’s brilliant show from a few years back on HBO. She plays Valerie Cherish, a D-list TV actress who’s making a comeback by being on a reality show which follows her on a new (and very bad) sitcom.
Well, when I meant sad, I didn’t mean so much that I was sad for her–more like she’s a pathetic head case. Really can’t believe Kelsey was with her for thirteen years.
I like Lisa a lot, too. Kyle isn’t horrible but she seems to have a real mean streak where her sister is concerned. What’s with all the little digs? I do feel bad for Kim. She seems like she’s about to cry every episode.
Man, I actually flicked over the BH during commercials last night. It was like a car wreck that horrifies you but you can’t look away! The plastic surgery alone was grotesque!
It’s weird. On the TWOP boards, everyone comments on Adrienne’s jutting cheekbones and Taylor’s duck lips and Camille’s boobs, and how awful plastic surgery is in general, and then they’ll say Kim should really have something done because she looks so much older than her age.
Holy crap. Camille’s dinner party on Beverly Hills last night was quite a trainwreck. Anyone else watch?
Camille’s special guest was her “friend”, Allison Dubois. Dubois is the inspiration for the TV show Medium, produced by Camille’s husband (Kelsey Grammer). And what a hosebeast she turned out to be! She claims to be psychic and told Kyle that her marriage would end when her kids were grown. She may have also told Kyle her husband was cheating – with all the yelling, it’s hard to remember who dissed who. All the while she’s puffing on an electronic cigarette and giving people the finger, sometimes two fingers. She was truly vile.
Kyle brought her friend Faye Resnick. I’d heard the name but couldn’t place her until Camille remembered. “You posed for Playboy after your friend was murdered.” (The friend was Nicole Brown Simpson.)
Anyway, it’s worth watching if you want to feel superior to millionaires.
Between Faye Resnick on this episode, Kato Kaelin showing up at that charity poker game, and all the media attention on Robert Kardashian’s daughters and their asses, I’m starting to realize where people connected with the O.J. Simpson trial have gone now that their fifteen minutes are up.
Allison was creepy as hell.
Also, what’s up with all the Kyle love? Everyone seems to adore her but she’s such a right bitch to her sister. What was up with ditching her?
It’s hard to say. Kyle said on WWHL that Kim’s place was 2 hours away, or out of everyone’s way, or something.
Hell, I might have ditched Kim too. She’s so needy.
Maybe Kyle worried that Kim and Taylor would get into it again. Kim’s comment to Taylor – “Why don’t you blow up your lips some more!” – not just childish, but stupid.
I haven’t seen all of the episodes but my impression is that Kim is odd woman out with these gals, and that sister Kyle feels like a caretaker. Kim is a bit delusional – “I’m an icon!” – and weird – pretending to nurse a baby when that guy from the market came to her house. She’s socially clumsy, looking for approval, speaking up at the wrong time, etc.
I get together with a few friends occasionally, at somebody’s house, for beer and snacks and talk. We all used to work together. One woman was dropped from these gatherings because she’s drunk after three beers and constantly interrupts, hogs the conversation, loud and boisterous. She just doesn’t fit, and I think that’s the deal with Kim – she doesn’t fit. The woman has issues.
The phone call – I wouldn’t have answered either. Kim knew that Kyle was in the limo with the other women and that they’d be talking. You or I would know that a phone call to any of them would just be an interruption. She had nothing to say that couldn’t wait a few hours.
Yeah, and I think that’s pretty cold. I don’t really see how she’s any more weird than any of the others, though. And if she is the odd one out, then why does Kyle ask her to do things for her (she yelled at her for not defending her, for not coming to help out at the birthday party). I do think Camille is delusional for thinking that Kyle is jealous of her, but in other ways, Kyle and the others are exemplifying very catty behavior.
I’m having a hard time getting over my first impression of Kim – that whole “I’m an icon” talking head from the first episode. She came off as manic, maybe delusional, maybe even disturbed. Most of the time she has a deer in the headlights look, even when things are calm – she’s panicky, like she’s not sure how to behave. It’d wear me out, being around her. So I’m sympathetic to Kyle, who had to grow up with her.
Kyle could be kinder to Kim, but I think Kim needs professional help. On the other hand, maybe Kyle enjoys kicking her, even if the kick is just ignoring her.
Have the other women talked about Kim? Mostly I focus on Camille the bitch.
